Consultations prébudgétaires 2020 – 2021 : Appel à des incitations pour mieux exploiter les opportunités économiques

GIS  – 19 mai 2020 : Des propositions pour transformer et mieux
exploiter les potentiels des industries locales afin de faire face à la crise économique
engendrée par le Covid-19 ont fait l’objet de discussions entre le ministre des Finances, de la Planification et du Développement économiques,
Dr Renganaden Padayachy, et les différents acteurs du secteur privé, aujourd’hui,
lors des consultations prébudgétaires en marge du budget 2020 – 2021 qui sera
présenté le 4 juin.

 

Après la rencontre, le Chief Executive Officer de Business
Mauritius, M. Kevin Ramkaloan, a affirmé que dans cette période de crise, le
développement durable, inclusif et à long terme est essentiel de même que d’exploiter
de nouvelles opportunités, miser sur la production locale et renforcer la
stratégie africaine. Il a également indiqué que les petites et moyennes
entreprises auront un rôle important à jouer car elles seront appelées à croître,
d’où l’impératif d’accorder des facilités à ces entrepreneurs.

 

En outre, il est d’avis que suite aux
conséquences de la pandémie de Covid-19, les entreprises passeront par des moments
difficiles jusqu’à décembre 2020. Il a donc lancé un appel pour des mesures de
soutien afin de sauvegarder l’emploi et d’éviter la fermeture de certaines entreprises.

 

Le président de Business Mauritius, M. Vidia Mooneegan, a, lui, fait ressortir l’importance
de transformer le modèle économique local ainsi que des opportunités qu’offrent
la régionalisation, la production locale et l’agro-industrie.

 

Tout en soulignant que c’est une période
difficile pour le secteur des exportations mauriciennes, le président de la Mauritius Export Association, M. Patrice
Robert, a, pour sa part, déclaré que c’est le moment de réinventer le secteur
industriel. Il plaide pour des mesures courageuses dans le but de repartir sur
des bases plus solides et diversifiées.

 

Quant au président de la Chambre de Commerce
et d’Industrie de Maurice, M. Marday Venkatasamy, il a demandé à ce que le gouvernement
prenne des mesures exceptionnelles et non-conventionnelles, dans ces
circonstances exceptionnelles, afin de redresser l’économie. Il souhaite que ce
budget soit équilibré sur les plans social, économique et sanitaire.
