Le secteur du textile et de l’habillement appelé à devenir une industrie 4.0

GIS – 02 juin 2020 : Les industries du textile et de l’habillement doivent se réinventer, en tirant parti des réseaux intelligents, et en évoluant vers l’industrie 4.0. A titre d’exemple, la robotique et l’impression 3-D doivent être intégrées au sein de leurs processus de production afin de se mettre à l’heure des technologies modernes et avancées.

Cet appel à revitaliser le secteur de l’industrie du textile et de l’habillement à travers l’intelligence artificielle, l’automatisation et le numérique a été lancé par le ministre du Développement industriel, des PME et des Coopératives, M. Soomilduth Bholah, aux exportateurs locaux lors d’une réunion, aujourd’hui, à SME Mauritius à Coromandel.
 
Cette réunion avait pour objectifs de mettre en œuvre une approche collective et coordonnée de toutes les parties prenantes pour faire face aux difficultés actuelles et d’identifier de nouvelles opportunités pour réorienter le secteur vers un développement durable, suite à la pandémie de Covid-19.
 
Maurice, a rappelé M. Bholah, exporte quelque Rs 43 milliards de produits chaque année, dont environ Rs 22 milliards provenant des industries du textile et de l’habillement, qui emploient quelque 31 000 personnes. Il a indiqué que même si ce secteur se retrouve à genoux face à la pandémie de Covid-19 et connaîtra un manque de visibilité dans les mois à venir, certains fabricants reçoivent toujours des commandes des principaux marchés, à savoir, l’Afrique du Sud, les Etats-Unis d’Amérique et le Royaume-Uni.
 
En outre, le ministre a exhorté les exportateurs à rassurer leurs clients que, malgré la pandémie de Covid-19, toutes les usines, les employés et la logistique sont prêts pour relancer la production. Il a également souligné qu’un Comité permanent du secteur manufacturier, composé des représentants de son ministère, de la Mauritius Export Association et de l’Economic Development Board, se rencontre mensuellement pour faire le point sur la situation. Ce Comité travaille présentement sur un plan de relance du secteur et sur des stratégies de commercialisation appropriées.
 
Plusieurs exportateurs présents à la réunion ont exprimé leurs préoccupations concernant le système de fret en raison de la fermeture de l’espace aérien et subséquemment le manque de vols au cours des deux derniers mois. Ils ont aussi informé le ministre qu’en dépit de l’aide reçue du gouvernement dans le cadre du Wage Assistance Scheme, ils éprouvent toujours des problèmes financiers. Ils ont de plus fait part de leurs propositions au ministre des Finances, du Développement et de la Planification économiques dans le cadre de la présentation prochaine du budget 2020 – 2021.
